Welcome to the website of the Giraffes – the Group for Interdisciplinary Research on Agriculture, Food, Forests, Environment & Sustainability, based in the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. OK, so the acronym is a little contrived, but it aptly captures many of the research themes that the group works on.
The objective of the GIRAFFES is to develop a comprehensive program of teaching and applied research on sustainable socio-environmental systems, by integrating methods and data from across the natural and social sciences.
